Today's post is about my foundation face favourites! Below is the breakdown of what I do to get the perfect full coverage face makeup. To be noted: I don't do this routine everyday, it's mostly for going out with friends and for work.
I actually filmed a YouTube video of my current foundation routine but it wasn't great (and I'm a perfectionist), so I will be re-filming it tomorrow and will update this post with the video. Yay!
Allllrighty then... here we go.
Apply a small amount of PUR Correcting Primer all over the face. I like this primer because it's has a light moisturizer-like formula rather than a gel formula. It absorbs fast and doesn't leave my skin feeling heavy.
Dust the NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder all over. This powder is translucent and will absorb any excess moisture left by the primer as well as fill in your pores. It makes your foundation LAST. I found this technique (powder before foundation) via one of Wayne Goss' YouTube videos and ever since, I've been hooked.
Apply foundation. I use a flat top kabuki style brush to apply my foundation, it gives that flawless airbrushed look. The reason I like applying foundation before concealer is because I can use less concealer afterwards. I let the foundation cover up as much as possible and only use minimal concealer to avoid looking cake-facey. This Makeup Forever HD foundation is my ultimate favourite, the coverage and formula is amazing.
Apply concealer. I've been using the Benefit Boing concealer for under my eyes and blemishes because it has more coverage and the NARS concealer as a highlighter. I apply the NARS on my t-zone, under my chin and along the cheeks to brighten up my face.
I use the MAC Skinfinish all over my face to help blend the foundation and concealer and to set my makeup. I prefer a matte finish as my skin is more oily, which this product gives me. I use this bad boy everyday it's AMAZING.
