|Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner in Universal Light VS. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Ash|
If you're a fan of the Brow Wiz and you have yet to find a drugstore dupe of this amazing brow pencil... Canadian girls, you're in luck! Annabelle has a very similar product called the "Skinny Brow Liner" for an affordable 8.95 Canadian! It offers the same ultra thin crayon-like tip as the more expensive $27 dollar Brow Wiz pencil. The thin tip of these pencils allows you to create thin lines imitating actual hairs, so your filled in brows look super natural. LETS COMPARE!
BROW WIZ: The Brow Wiz has a more traditional-like brush which is perfect for shaping those brows into the perfect angle. A negative point would be that product builds up on this brush as you can see in the photo above, so it gets dirty fast.
SKINNY BROW LINER: The Skinny Brow Liner has an nontraditional plastic brow brush. It's considerably smaller than the Brow Wiz brush. I originally thought I wouldn't like this brush, but it's good for fixing individual hairs that are out of place due to it's small size. It's also easy to clean because it's plastic.
WINNER | Skinny Brow Liner
BROW WIZ: The Brow Wiz packaging is a lot more luxurious looking with the black and gold colour-way. I also like how both the lid and brush caps are black.
SKINNY BROW LINER: Somewhat boring packaging. The packaging colour matches the eyebrow pencil shade which is good for a drugstore product as this liner does not have in-store samples.
WINNER | Brow Wiz
BROW WIZ: Brow Wiz comes in 7 shades to cover all hair colour types. Here is the breakdown:
Taupe (formally Ash Blonde): For light to dark blonde Hair
Medium Brown (formally Medium Ash) is for light/medium brown or silver hair
Caramel: Warm light brown, auburn or strawberry blonde hair
Soft Brown: Medium brown hair
Dark Brown: Medium brown to black hair
Ebony: Dark brown to black hair
Granite: Very dark brown to black hair with ashy undertones.
I'm currently using Medium Ash (Medium Brown) because I accidentally picked up the wrong shade at Sephora (I was using Taupe before). Medium Ash ended up being the perfect match to my natural ash light brown eyebrows (I'm a natural dirty blonde).
SKINNY BROW LINER: This liner comes in three shades.
The Annabelle website unfortunately, does not have any colour descriptions of this liner.
WINNER | Brow Wiz, Annabelle needs to release more shades to compete!
COLOUR COMPARISONS & DUPES
Universal Light / Caramel: I purchased Universal Light thinking it would be perfect for my light brown ash eyebrows. Boy was I wrong. This liner has red undertones so I think it would work best for auburn or strawberry blonde hair like the Brow Wiz in "Caramel". Unfortunately if you're blonde, this liner may or may not work for you.
Universal Medium / Soft Brown or Dark Brown: I haven't personally tried Universal Medium but I think it would work better with my eyebrows than Universal Light, although I still think it would be to dark (us Blondes have it hard in the eyebrow department). I would recommend Universal Medium as a dupe for Soft Brown or Dark Brown.
Universal Dark / Ebony: The darkest Annabelle liner shade is Universal Dark which is for dark brown hair to black hair. This is a dupe for the shade Ebony.
BROW WIZ: 27.00 CAD
SKINNY BROW LINER: 8.95 CAN (online)
WINNER | Skinny Brow Liner
Overall, I'm going to have to recommend the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, that is until Annabelle releases more shades. Three is just not enough! If you have lighter eyebrows or are a blonde you might want to avoid the Skinny Brow Liner because finding a colour match will be more difficult. If you have medium to dark brown or black hair the Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner might be a great option for you! Especially if you want to save a whopping $18 dollars.
Let me know if this post was helpful and if you want more dupe/product comparisons posts because I love doing them!
